Hand Carved Wooden Sea Turtle Necklace

This is a Hand carved, sea turtle necklace made by my mom. I love the way she painted him, he looks like he’s made out of stone! It makes a great choker necklace by using the cinch bead to resize.

It can be found in our Etsy shop here:

1956 Oldsmobile Super 88~ Drawing

Art Prints

This was a commission that I just recently finished. I’m happy how it turned out.  Soon I’ll ship it on its way to its owner!  Something to remember though, is that you can’t ship on the weekends! Bummer!

Medias: I used my Faber Castell markers, .005 Micron pen, colored pencils, and pastel pencils. They all layered very well on Strathmore Bristol paper! (Its very thick and hearty) 😉

Night Hawk-Watercolor Painting

Art Prints
Night Hawks are very fascinating birds. I had the pleasure of seeing one sitting down in the needles amidst the pine trees one day. He was very well camouflaged in the midst of  the dead pine  needles.Their eyes are so black that they look as if they’re nothing more than black holes. I had always seen these birds flying at night, but that had been  the first time I had actually seen one up close. I love the whooshing sound they make while diving, and their little chirping noise grows on you. If you are a bird watcher, I would suggest you study this one.

Swallowtail Butterfly-Ink and Acrylic Drawing

Art Prints
I was walking up in the hills one day, and saw a lot of pretty butterfly’s surrounding thistles every where. I was excited to find that these thistle’s were of a different type then what I was used to. There stems were fuzzy and soft, and you could actually touch them. As I followed the butterfly’s from one thistle to the next, I was able to take some pictures with my camera and draw one of them.

This picture was so fun and easy, I’m hoping to create a series. I drew this picture using ink and Acrylic.

Green Hummingbird-Watercolor Painting

Art Prints

This painting may seem simple enough, but I faced some challenging moments in it’s development. Watercolor is one of my favorite media’s to use. You can work with it and spread it in most of the areas you want before it drys. But if you don’t make sure it drys before applying another layer, it mixes in too much. As I paint I’m learning more through my mistakes. 😉

I’m a great color fan, and love most of the colors I put into this painting. The final touch was suggested to me by my Dad, who told me to add yellow to the background which tied in all the yellow that I had put into the flower and bird. He told me that the color of the background looked too cool and that the yellow would warm the colors up. And you know what? He was right! My Dad sure knows his stuff!

I am happy to announce, that the original of this painting has recently been sold!

Sunday Morning-Church painting

I just love color, and most of my favorites are in this painting.

This was one of my first experiences using a Masonite board. To achieve the smooth blends of color in my clouds, I worked each color into the previous layer while the paint was still wet. I was using Acrylic paint which dries fast.

Original Sold for $150.00
