Heather’s Art~ 2016 Year in Review

Standard

Hello my friends! Thank you all for sticking with me, as we enter another year! Since I started in 2012 I’ve gained 172 followers! Thank you all so much for your friendship! Here is my year in review for 2016! Other than birthday cards for folks, I really haven’t done many paintings this year. I guess I’ve gotten a little discouraged when it comes to fine art. People don’t seem to be buying them like they used to. So I’m trying to express my art in other directions. I’m trying to become a book illustrator. However, I’m still making hand carved jewelry and selling them on my mom and dad’s Etsy shops:

Cottage Made Gifts

Stinnett Studio

Here are a few examples of what I’ve made this year:

We also are selling some vintage Barbie’s and accessories in our Cottage Made Gifts, shop. They were found in the attic of a very old house and kept safe in a Barbie Case.

This year, I’ve been working hard on becoming a book illustrator. I’m also trying to self publish my own children’s book called, The Monster. I’m hoping to get it published by March of 2017.

Thank you guys again! Praying for many blessings this New Year!

Hand Painted Walking Stick~ Flower Garden #1

Standard

So it was my turn to make a walking stick. 🙂 I was too chicken to do a carving like my folks had, but painting was more up my alley so I made this Garden Nature Stick. It was a lot of fun and I would love to make more! Each bug and flower has their names written beside them. I signed and numbered this stick as #1! I’m very excited and hope that it will find its way into someone’s heart and home! Its available in my Dad’s Etsy shop at:stinnettstudio.etsy.com .

The stick includes Hand Painted: Black Eyed Susan, Ivy Vine, Bumble Bee, Honey Bee, Glass Wing Butterfly, Morning Glory, Blue Butterfly, Ivy Vine, Leopard Frog, Snail and Meadow Mushroom, and Lotus.

My Lovely family has pitched in and has helped me buy my  very own laptop! I’m very excited as this will really help me create digital art. I’m hoping to create graphic novels and this laptop will hopefully help speed up production! My other blog is where I am sharing most of my digital work. I forgot to show my latest picture called, No Greater Love. Its a tract I made for Valentines Day. Feel free to share it! I’m so happy to have this new laptop and hope to start creating a whole bunch of art! Thank you all for joining me! Have a wonderful week!

Pro 31:30  Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.

This is a card I made for one of my friend’s birthday. I hope she’ll like it and that it looks enough like her; I’m having to go by memory. 🙂

Hand Carved Birds Nest Necklace

Standard

I love this necklace so much! I almost wish we weren’t selling it! It was hand carved by my Dad and assembled by my Mom. I love the look of his handmade egg beads at the top, they look so classic! As you can tell, this is one of my personal favorites! 😉 The other beads are made out of natural Cottonwood.

This necklace can be found in our Etsy shop at: Cottage Made Gifts

Horse painting Here is one of my latest paintings that I created using watercolor. I really like horses I think they’re beautiful! But they’re one of the hardest things to draw! Even though I like horses, I wasn’t really into them; I liked pigs, miniature ponies, and dinosaurs! Hehe! What does that say about me? Oh well… I guess I’m weird.

Chipmunk in Blackberry Bush~ Watercolor Painting

I’m now finished with my painting! Soon I’ll need to frame it and get it ready for the Art Show next month. Hopefully I can get my deer painting finished in time as well. My new Sable brush, that I mentioned earlier, did a good job, although…it wasn’t the same size that I had before. I think perhaps I’ll order another in a smaller size some time. But other than that, it’s what finished my painting and I think it turned out well. 🙂

Finally Recieved My Sable Brush!

Standard

Waited almost a month for my Kolinsky Sable Brush to arrive. I just got it yesterday. I love these watercolor brushes! Now I can finish my Chipmunk painting! 😀

I haven’t used it yet but it should be a good one! I’ll let you all know how well it works later. 😉
